Kiritimati, pronounced Kirisimas, is one island within the Republic of Kiribati, a Pacific island nation spanning over 3.5 million square kilometres of ocean.
As the world's largest coral atoll and home to the planet's earliest time zone, it is the first place on Earth to greet each new dawn and sunsets. Just over three hours from Honolulu via Fiji Airways, it is closer than most people imagine, yet remains one of the most pristine, untouched environments on the planet.
